We are currently looking to fill the following openings:

Front-End Web Designer: Use current web design techniques to collaborate with IMS staff and clients to design and layout public-facing websites and collaborative research sites covering topics including cancer statistics, public health resources, and tools for cancer centers. In this position, you will use your web design skills to gather requirements, define information architectures, develop prototypes, code websites, and ensure projects follow user experience (UX) best practices.  You will also coordinate new content, maintain quality of existing sites, and enhance sites for SEO, functionality, and accessibility. Tasks may include conducting compatibility tests against different web browsers and devices for new and existing functionality, and ensuring that all sites meet the requirements for accessibility and compliance with the latest laws and best practices for U.S. government websites. Requirements include: BA/BS from a U.S. DOE accredited institution with a 2.9+ GPA; 2-4 years of related experience required; Proficiency with HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite, & JavaScript; Experience with website usability & content strategy; Knowledge of responsive frameworks; Knowledge of Section 508 and W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines a plus.

Web Application Developer (Entry-Level): Design and develop web-based applications for new products or enhancements. We are looking for a programmer to work on projects that range from small agile portals to fully validated web interfaces using multiple languages and design methodologies. Tasks include translating requirements into viable code, testing, debugging, and preparing documentation following company standards and applicable regulations. Requirements include: BA/BS in CompSci or related field from a U.S. DOE accredited institution with a 2.9+ GPA; 0-5 years of related experience; Proficiency in at least one web programming language (Python, PHP, etc.); Knowledge of current web user interfaces (HTML, CSS, Ajax, etc.); Knowledge of Django preferred.
