Job Details

The driver delivers materials per orders to customer locations.

Inspects truck before and after trips and submits truck conditions reports. Maintains DOT required driver logs. Assists in loading and unloading of the trucks. Collects payment for delivered orders. Securing load for safe transportation. 

  • Works and aids other employees with loading of trucks. 
  • Check vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
  • Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. 
  • Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
  • Read bills of lading to determining assignment details.
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage. 
  • Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
  • Wrap and secure goods using pads, packing paper, containers, or straps.
  • Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.

Requirements

Must have an Arizona Class-A Driver License. Minimun 3 years of driving experience. Must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner. 

High School diploma or equivalent.

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
