The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.


Perspecta has an immediate need for a Training and Curriculum Development Specialist in the Washington DC area.

The training specialist will design, develop, and deliver hands-on training and eLearning curriculum for adult learners.

In this role, the preferred candidate will possess knowledge and experience supporting the White House Communications Agency as an Information Systems Technician (IST) demonstrating knowledge and skills in IST discipline such as setup, configuration, and operation of secure and non-secure information technology assets, processing message traffic and help desk support in service to the White House staff, US Secret Service and members of WHCA who support the President, Vice President and First Lady of the United States.


Required Skills:

  • Experience developing courseware, writing training materials, delivering training, and setting up and maintaining a computer training environment, and using customer satisfaction surveys for course evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience writing training manuals (instructor and participant guides) and user manuals.
  • Ability to design and produce training tools, such as printable job aids and quick reference guides.
  • Ability to deliver train-the-trainer and instructor-led training.
  • Ability to design and produce eLearning training material.
  • Familiarity with standard instructional systems development models, such as ADDIE or Agile design.
  • Ability to serve as the primary customer representative for development and delivery of customized training solutions and documentation.
  • Ability to encourage classroom participation and facilitate change management for target audience.
  • Ability to learn and apply customer needs/business knowledge to ensure client satisfaction of delivery outcomes.

  • Strong interpersonal and professional skills
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team (developers, testers, analysts, and management)
  • Ability to produce professional deliverables using Microsoft Office

Education and Experience Required:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or higher + 2 years of experience; or 5+ years of military/business training experience.
  • Show verifiable training and experience as one of the following: Information System Technician (IST) or IST Lead
  • Certified Technical Trainer (Preferred)
  • Security+ Certification (Preferred)
  • Possess a current TS/SCI with Presidential Support Duty (PSD) clearance.
