Navy Marine Corps

The Navy Marine Corps business group provides end-to-end IT solutions to the Department of the Navy including transport, networking, end user hardware and services, cybersecurity and staffing. Using agile engineering and DevOps methods, we produce mission-specific solutions to solve the Fleet's challenges.


DevOps Automation Developer/Windows Server Engineer with focus on PowerShell and Configuration Management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
  • Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries
  • Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases through Sprints
  • Facilitate and lead the engineering and development for Windows Server platforms in support of NGEN Contract
  • On the job experience with Windows Server 2008-R2, 2012-R2, 2016
  • Technical engineering document development experience
  • Maintain industry standard Rack-mount and Blade server hardware platform configurations
  • Ensure Servers are configured in compliance with all applicable DISA STIGs.
  • Follow strict privacy regulations to prevent data leaks by non-authorized personnel
  • Provide input for the design, process, and resource allocation management
  • Troubleshoot and Server features and capabilities to meet customer requirements
  • Design and implement solutions for Windows Servers
  • Upgrade software, apply patches, and ensure security of Windows Servers
  • Develop and document Windows Server architectural requirements based off of customer provided requirements.

The successful candidate will have a strong working background in systems administration, scripting and automation, and continuous integration development. Strong candidates will possess experience with Windows Server 2016, VMWare ESXi 6.x and fundamental networking concepts, a scripting language, Object Oriented Programming and version control systems.

Required Skills:

  • Pester
  • Experience with remote administration techniques (WinRM, SSH)
  • Experience in working in Agile Teams through the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid comprehension of Object Oriented Programming concepts
  • Server 2016
  • PowerShell/DSC (or strong scripting background)
  • VMware vSphere
  • Understanding of version control and using Git and tools such as Azure Repos, AWS, Gitlab, Bitbucket
  • Solid understanding of many of the following: VS-IDE, Jenkins, SonarQube, Tenable

Preferred Skills:

  • Configuration Management experience in Chef/Puppet/Saltstack/CFEngine
  • ITSM experience (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy)
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Travis CI, Bamboo
  • Experience in organizational transformations to a DevOps Model
  • Strong experience as a Systems Engineer in an enterprise environment of 150+ servers
  • Experience managing system Information assurance (IA) baselines for RHEL Operating System and related hardware platforms.
  • Enterprise Server Hardware management experience

Desired Skills:

  • Configuration Management experience specifically in Ansible
  • Server 2019
  • SQL 2012/2016
  • Microsoft IIS
  • ITSM Experience (Jira)


Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.

Secret Security Clearance required

SAFe certified or certified upon hire.
