Perspecta has an immediate need for a Supply Chain and Procurement Buyer in San Diego, CA.

Job Description:

Under direction, performs traditional purchasing work including the development, supervision and related functions of the purchasing activities for government. This position is responsible for all aspects of purchasing within the dollar limits prescribed by delegation of authority. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• MUST HAVE experience with IT Products and Services, procuring and servicing agreements for hardware and software products.

• Perform necessary purchasing procedures for the acquisition of products and services for government clients.
• Analyzes department requisitions to determine which vendors provide materials, services, and products at the best price and delivery
• Creates and administers bid specifications, quotations, and proposals according to government procurement compliance regulations. Evaluates and recommends best bid.
• Issues purchase orders and resolves problems that arise from nonconforming specifications and purchase order terms and conditions, poor service, later delivery, cancelled orders, improper invoicing, and back orders.
• Works internally with business office to negotiate terms of SOWs
• Attends interdepartmental planning meetings where long-range goals involve the purchasing function
• Serve as liaison between the Purchasing Department and other government departments and divisions. Related duties as required
• Recommend/contracts/blanket orders for efficiency in overall procurement for government
• Issue resolution from users, suppliers and public
• Vendor Management to include research/recommendations of potential new suppliers Participate in planning and improving procurement operations

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related business field.
• Five years or more of Supply Chain experience is preferred.
• US Citizenship required, Public Sector experience is preferable.
