Job Details

The Sr Manager of Data Solutions is an integral member of the Reliance Technology Solutions (RTS) management team and is responsible for establishing and maintaining enterprise wide data strategy and data architecture.  This individual will provide guidance for all of the data integrations, data cataloguing, master data management and data quality.   The Sr Manager will support the overall RTS Architecture and Applications by providing data solution expertise, data modeling, training, consulting, budget and strategy input. 

To be successful in this role, the Sr Manager of Data Solutions must build and maintain strong and strategic partnerships across the organization, quickly gaining an understanding of business needs so better data services and processes are provided in support of business growth and stability. The role will work closely with other teams to drive the data strategy and champion the leveraging of data assets to gain business insights that influence business strategies. The Sr Manager must lead their team to achieve goals and milestones by fostering trust and engaging in open, respectful and transparent communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Establishes and maintains the overall data strategy and roadmap in collaboration with other Business and RTS leaders and aligns it with the overall RTS strategy
  • Provides leadership and direction to define and create a sustainable and repeatable process for data management and integrity for all enterprise applications
  • Leads and manages data initiatives, from discovery through implementation, in order to ensure solutions meet goals and business needs
  • Ensures sound simple to complex design principles are followed in all data initiatives
  • Responsible for global MDM and data quality initiatives
  • Recommends and implements leading and innovative ways to use data and analytics to aid in the development of efficient and effective business solutions
  • Exhibits expert level knowledge of data management processes to evaluate and recommend new technologies and systems for improved data management functionalities
  • Successfully drives interactions and facilitates discussions with project teams by clearly communicating requirements around data, timing and budget to ensure successful project execution
  • Participates in developing, defining, maintaining, and enforcing data management standards
  • Works in collaboration with the Data Governance team to establish consistent data quality, metadata and controls
  • Performs research on industry trends and best practices and applies techniques as appropriate
  • Ability to reach out across the organization and communicate with people at different levels, with diverse needs and agendas
  • Works closely with the RTS Management to ensure alignment on project expectations and deliverables
  • Provide accurate project effort estimates
  • Ensure any outside consultants and/or project teams are informed of responsibilities, due dates, dependencies, and that they are delivering on these responsibilities, keeping respective leadership informed and escalating issues immediately
  • Direct responsibility for DBAs’ and their performance with executing project duties and meeting timelines
  • Manages, mentors, and evaluates performance of Data Management staff, including setting-up goals and objectives, conducting performance evaluations, and providing staff with guidance on technical/project related issuesProvide status to project management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering required
  • Advanced Degree preferred
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Relationship management skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience architecting technology solutions including data, business and user services in large, complex enterprises working with internal (company) and external structured and unstructured data sources required
  • Hands on experience in data warehousing and analytics solution design and development with a minimum 5 years of logical and physical data modeling for the enterprise required
  • Experience with ETL, master data management, metadata management, data quality, various analytic tools and techniques for mining enterprise information, and enterprise information architecture
  • Proven track record of creating data strategies and roadmaps
  • Proven management experience and success leading data teams and projects
  • Experience with collaborating in a multiple stakeholder environment including internal teams, vendors, third parties, and sub-contractors
