Description

The Coordinator, Customer Services coordinates the customer service counter and call center, planning of special events, mail-outs, communication work-flows, and correspondence. This position oversees all customer service business processes and procedures and ensures information is conveyed to various constituent groups and addresses all customer service issues

DUTIES

  1. Develops and manages customer service business processes and procedures
  2. Oversees services offered, provides information to students, staff and faculty and addresses any problems that may arise
  3. Plans, organizes and executes department events and initiates efforts and partnerships to ensure maximum participation
  4. Assists with department specific functions and services as it related to customer service
  5. Serves on various administrative committees, represents the university on state committees, and participates in local, state, and national conferences


MARGINAL DUTIES

  1. Performs all other duties assigned


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Reports: Part time employees
Delegation of Work: Assigns work to subordinate(s)
Supervision Given: Provides recommendations on hiring employees, scheduling work hours and granting time off

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position


Skills:

  • Candidates must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills


Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community


WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment > 8 hours; lobby customer service island or reception area 6 to 8 hours

Physical Demands:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
  • Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc
  • Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks
