## Job Mission

Founded in 1984, ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or chips. ASML has its R&D; and manufacturing operations in Wilton, Connecticut and in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. The Development & Engineering Department in ASML Wilton office is currently searching for a talented software engineering manager. ASML’s lithography machine computing architecture is a hybrid using Linux, Unix and VxWorks. A typical machine is supported by a large scale software architecture of 40 million lines of embedded C, C++ and Python code.

## Job Description

As the Software Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of 8 – 12 software engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of embedded software for ASML's Twinscan products. A successful candidate is a hands-on technical expert who has excellent management and people skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

* Manage a team of highly skilled software engineers
* Communicate and collaborate proactively with all disciplines and functions
* Coordinate efforts of team to achieve long-term strategic company goals
* Oversight of technical quality and reviews
* Manage and execute against project plan and delivery commitments
* Report on status of development and quality to management
* Deliver on time every time and with the highest quality
* Lead full lifecycle software development projects
* Manage day-to-day activities of the team members
* Work closely with the team members to architect and develop the best technical design
* Shape the way the team develops software
* Coach and mentor team members

## Education

* Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

## Experience

* 5 years of experience leading engineering teams
* A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals
* 5 years of embedded C/C++ software development experience
* A passion for (software) engineering

## Personal skills

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Highly Energetic.
