Job Description

As a Site Automation Engineering Lead, well count on you to:

This position wil be responsible for leading automation, instrumentation, industrial controls and BMS systems at site. This includes maintenance, troubleshooting, and designing/redesigning of process automation control systems projects (PLCs, SCADA, BMS, Industrial networks, Electrical Systems). This position ensures that the reporting engineering team is staffed with the appropriate skills and capabilities to meet all Site Engineering functional goals. This position ensures that all engineering activities result in fit for purpose assets which meet the business requirements (safety, functionality, capacity, capability, reliability, properly maintained and in compliance) in a timely and cost effective manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is expected to manage/execute:

  • Investigate automation issues in a manufacturing environment
  • Direct technicians in troubleshooting equipment
  • Support deviation investigation
  • Site Change Controls for small project execution
  • Implement automation upgrades and improvements
  • Coordinate project validation approach with Site Quality Operations
  • Interactions with operational customers
  • Create and/or update procedures and drawings within the site quality documentation systems
  • The focus to create and maintain a safety culture that is proactive and striving for zero injuries is of the utmost importance and an expectation for all employees.
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related Engineering fields plus
  • Min12 years of automation engineering experience within cGMP environment with at least 5 years in a managerial  capacity (leading automation team/s)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting control systems and an understanding of process controls a must
  • Leadership experience; good people management skill
  • Good writing skills essential for investigations, reports and proposals
  • Understanding of control system networks, e.g. Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.
