Perspecta has an immediate need for a Senior ServiceNow Engineerin Herndon, VA.


  • Design, integrate, deploy, operate, and maintain CDM tools and capabilities in enterprise on premise and Cloud environments
  • Develop installation, configuration, and deployment methods including scripting, use of APIs, orchestration, automation, and database services to support the integration and configuration of CDM applications and security technologies
  • Work with architects, integration engineers, and developers to design solutions and improve data quality, security, and compliance or extend current capabilities and offerings to customers
  • Assess system designs to validate them against expected technical parameters in support of the CDM data model
  • Identify, analyze, define, and coordinate user, customer, and stakeholder needs and translates them into hardware and software requirements
  • Identify and manage solution dependencies with other systems and elements of the enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Perform data validation, analysis, warehousing, and data mining to improve Data Consistency and address gaps
  • Develop and maintain detailed installation documentation and SOPs as required
  • Provide best practice guidance to government customers including deployment and integration strategies to support Hardware Asset management (HWAM), Software Asset Management (SWAM), Vulnerability Management (VUL) and other integrations, like ForeScout, IBM BigFix, Microsoft SCCM, Tenable, etc.
  • Create technical documentation, diagrams, guides, schedules, and other deliverables to support internal and external customers
  • Provide tool operations and maintenance support, Tier 3 customer support, and act as the subject matter expert
  • Provide mentoring and support to other engineers


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field or equivalent technical/vocational certification and a combination of experience preferred
  • 7-9 years with a Bachelors Degree, 4-6 years with a Masters Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a ServiceNow subject matter expert and hands-on experience with tool deployment, configuration, and customization of core applications
  • Experience administering ServiceNow in an enterprise environment including data management, service automation, core application administration, populating the knowledge base, service catalog, creating workflows, collaboration, database administration, self-service and process automation, scripting and application tool maintenance
  • Minimum of ServiceNow Certified System Administrator Certification; additional Mainline certifications preferred
  • Effective communications skills, both oral and written
  • Experience leading technical discussions with internal and external customers
  • Experience developing and/or deploying ServiceNow scripts and applications
  • Experience and use of the key technologies and relevant APIs relevant to ServiceNow and integration including: SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, JASON, JavaScript
  • Experience implementing 3rd party integrations with the ServiceNow platform, such as ForeScout, IBM BigFix, Microsoft SCCM, Tenable, etc.
  • Understanding and use of Microsoft SQL database, database definition, procedures, and advanced SQL
  • Experience with ServiceNow Rest APIs and use to support integration efforts
  • Ability to troubleshoot broad-ranging issues (operating systems, network, firewall, COTS products, access and authentication

Highly Preferred:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or CIS-ITOM is a plus
  • ITIL and/or Agile Scrum certification is a plus
  • Experience in enterprise hardware and/or software asset management tools and inventory methods
  • Experience supporting Incident response and handling; scanning for malicious content, automation, and aggregation of intelligence data
  • Experience developing ServiceNow workflows and integration with Vulnerability scanning tools for automation and remediation
  • Experience using Virtualization Technologies, such as VMware, vSphere, Xen
  • Ability to perform ETL operations to retrieve enrichment content from existing hardware, software, system boundary inventories
  • Understanding and use of the ServiceNow Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), query language, schemas, keys, references and relations (one-to-many and many-to-one)
  • Understanding of enterprise device types and operating systems (Windows and UNIX) to include, Active Directory and Windows domain management including patch and configuration management, group policy objects
  • Knowledge of CPEs, CVEs, and CCEs
  • Knowledge of NIST, RMF or CDM Framework

Security Requirements:

  • Non-dual, U.S Citizenship.
  • Secret clearance or higher is highly desirable, however, a lower clearance may be acceptable dependent on federal government experience and past clearances.
  • The minimum clearance level acceptable is Public Trust.
  • Applicants selected must be capable of attaining DHS Suitability and Public Trust 6C Clearance or above.
