SAIC has an opportunity available for a Senior Enterprise Middleware Services Manager to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (DHS CBP) Office of Information and Technology’s Enterprise Data Management and Engineering Division’s Data Center Support Services contract (OIT EDMED DCSS). This an opportunity for you to join the team on a long- term (10 year) contract implementing leading edge technology to provide CBP with information, services, and technology solutions to secure the border, prevent the entry of terrorists or terrorist weapons, and to ensure the efficient flow of lawful people across U.S. borders. This position is contingent upon contract award and located in the DC Metro area.

The Enterprise Middleware Services Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations and ensuring highly responsive performance of the customer’s Enterprise Middleware environments, providing:

- Engineering and operational support for a variety of Middleware technologies (such as XML, Web Services, WebSphere Message Queue (MQ), DataPowers, and Service-Oriented Architecture), Web Services products (such as WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Web Server, Tivoli Access Manager and WebSEAL) and -
- Enterprise Applications and Technical Projects based on customer requirements and mission needs while -
- Ensuring 24x7x365 O&M support for its CBP mission-critical systems relating to WebSphere Message Queue / Middleware Operations and Web Services Operations.

Specific responsibilities of this position require providing leadership and management to your middleware team to ensure efficient and cost-effective provision of middleware services responsive to CBP requirements, including:

1. Transaction Messaging Services: Provide middleware support services for a standards-based global Middleware infrastructure that is designed to provide CBP OIT business partners, users, and Other Government Agencies (OGAs) the ability to process information rapidly and securely while ensuring data integrity, data security, and delivery. TMS provides engineering solutions for MW technologies, including but not limited to Web Services, MQ, DataPower SOA Appliances and Service-Oriented Architecture, based on customer requirements and mission needs while ensuring 24x7x365 O&M support for its CBP mission-critical systems. Additionally, MW supports enterprise-wide mission critical systems and applications as well as MQ Appliance testing and Mainframe migration to commodity cloud while supporting the IBM Websphere product suite (i.e., MQ, IIB, WDI, WTX, DataPower XML Security Gateway and IBM Connect Direct). TMS monitors the CBP OIT enterprise network in an effort to detect issues, minimize outages and deliver data messaging services while supporting the CBP OIT, airlines, trade partners, Value- Added-Networks and participating OGAs.
2. Web Services: Provide 24x7x365 Engineering and Operational Web Services Support to CBP OIT running J2EE-based applications within CBP OIT Web Services infrastructure designed to provide CBP OIT business partners, users, and OGAs the ability to process information rapidly and securely while ensuring data integrity, data security, and application availability.
3. Enterprise Applications and Technical Projects Services: Perform the research, installation, testing, evaluation and support of technical recommendations for new or emerging technologies for CBP OIT business applications to include support for multiple geographically dispersed data centers or cloud service providers in either active/active or active/passive architecture. Additional details related to middleware requirements can be provided to interested candidates.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor degree (experience considered in lieu of degree)

- Minimum 9 years' relevant experience

- Must have at least three years’ experience leading operations in a similar middleware services environment

- Must have five or more recent years of demonstrated advanced, hands-on, experience with providing Transaction Messaging Services, Web Services, and Enterprise Applications and Technical Projects Services

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Experience supporting DHS Customs and Border Protection or a similar Federal agency in a complex middleware environment

- Current DHS security clearance of Secret

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

- Must possess a current Secret clearance
