Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Manufacturing Science & Technology will focus on working with all the relevant combination sites/regions in order to enable on time introduction of robust combination new products,  knowledge related to device  process practices in a structured manner,   formalizing communication to ensure reducing compliance risks and building best practices.

This position will help create and manage the device industrialization processes within site operations.  The Senior Director, MS&T will be responsible to work closely with the relevant site people and the appropriate R&D device teams within Teva to successfully implement devices and associated process technology in order to facilitate successful on-time product launches. This position will manage the process engineering aspects of the formal R&D / Teva Global Operations (TGO) Hand-in-Hand process for devices, which will be followed to ensure robust device designs are developed and enable successful commercial manufacture of combination products at the site. The role holder will ensure that all product knowledge and know-how is transferred successfully from R&D to the manufacturing site:  which includes molding and pre-assembly stage, filling process, final assembly and Industrialization. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for any post launch device changes, supplier relations and device machine engineering.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align with the R&D device teams on guidelines
  • Train and support the relevant sites
  • Work with the site device engineering team and provide key criteria to be  incorporated into the device design and specs and its components and to the design and specs of the assembly equipment to support manufacturability at high scale and speed
  • Active participant in the Hand-in Hand tech transfer process from R&D to the site
  • Provide input to R&D during development as to manufacturability and industrialization aspects and requirements
  • Provide technical support of the assembly equipment
  • Input on the scale-up of the device component manufacturing
  • Specifying the automation and control systems
  • Execute equipment FAT, OQ, PQ and assist validation
  • Work with the global device engineering team to develop key criteria to be  incorporated into the device design and specs and its components and to the design and specs of the assembly equipment to support manufacturability at high scale and speed
  • Support ongoing commercial manufacturing
  • Manage the device, equipment and processes changes post launch

Qualifications

 

Education

  • BS/BA Degree in engineering

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 year experience in device engineering is required, preferably in the pharmaceutical manufacturing area.  
  • Minimum 10 years experience overall pharmaceutical experience
