Job Description

Teva is searching for a Senior Chemist II to join our team in Irvine!

 

The Senior Chemist II role requires proficiency with authoring analytical method validation protocol and reports, compendia verifications, method transfers and gap assessments.  This role is responsible for compendial compliance for quality control and provides technical support for complex investigations and junior staff. 

 

You will:

 

  • Author protocols and reports for method validation, method transfer, USP verifications and gap assessments
  • Manage QC program for USP/EP compliance
  • Provide support for complex technical investigations and projects
  • Partner with colleagues from other Teva locations for successful transfer activities
  • Complete Investigation and Deviations (CAPA effectiveness) in TrackWise
  • Mentor more junior team members
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams, internal and external to Irvine
  • Participate in troubleshooting of analytical test methods
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, procedures, and state, Federal and local laws

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Chemistry or Microbiology, or equivalent education/experience with a minimum of 12 years relevant progressive experience in a Quality Control / Quality Assurance environment required.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, DEA and other applicable industry regulatory requirements as they relate to the production of pharmaceutical products and associated quality systems required.
  • Experience with LIMS, Empower, Chemstation and Chromeleon.  (LabWare LIMS and/or Empower) preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and strong understanding of method validation requirements.
  • Experience mentoring team members
  • Solid understanding of the principles of analytical chemistry as it applies to HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis and other general analytical techniques and compendia.
  • Computer proficiency with comprehensive working knowledge of MS Office products, Learning Management Systems (LMS), ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and manufacturing/quality systems such as LIMS, TrackWise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively document a process, explaining scientific and/or technical ideas in writing (technical writing skills). 
  • Ability to interact positively and collaborate with co-workers, management and other internal stakeholders.
  • Self-directed with ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Detail oriented with ability to identify errors and/or inconsistencies while performing tasks.
