Job Description


As a Senior Automation Engineer, well count on you to design and  maintain electrical controls, instrumentation, automation systems (SCADAs, PLCs, Equipment networks, BMS), including troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automation  systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain/troubleshoot automation systems (SCADA, PLCs etc.), instrumentation and Electrical controls for Pharmaceutical production (Oral solid dosage equipment) and BMS (Building Management System)
  • SME for design and specifications for automation equipment and instrumentation.
  • Develop and revise automation related SOPs
  • SME for quality systems associated with automation (SCADAs, PLCs, HMI, BMS Systems)
  • Evaluate new technologies for their application within a cGMP manufacturing facility
  • Maintains control system system & application backups, virus protection, operating system patches, etc.
  • Assists in establishing preventative maintenance requirements, maintaining spare parts management.
  • Program, configure, and integrate new/existing automation systems for pharmaceutical equipment.
  • Minimum 7 years instrumentation/automation/control systems engineering experience in a cGMP regulated industry
  • Experience in the design, programming, start-up, or troubleshooting of industrial control systems, such as motion/servo controllers, variable frequency drives, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, SQL databases and reports, industrial communication networks, process instrumentation, and up to 480V electrical control equipment.
  • Experience performing system qualification, such as FAT/SAT, commissioning, and IQ/OQ validation.
  • Excellent computer and computer networking skills.
  • Bachelors in Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Industrial controls experience.
  • Experience with DeltaV, Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLCs, Industrial Ethernet networks, VLANs, Profibus networks, BMS systems and instrumentation.
