Amgen is seeking an outstanding resource to join the Operations Accounting team. The Sr Associate Accounting will support the corporate accounting area and will ensure that intercompany transactions are fairly stated for all sites, entities, and accurately eliminated from the consolidated financial statements

This role will gain an understanding of the Company's overall intercompany elimination process to support the team's goal.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accounting for Global Intercompany Activities.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory movements to ensure alignment with Transfer Price Strategy including profit in inventory eliminations.
  • Perform all assigned monthly accounting close activities including variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end reporting, audit support, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Writing desktop procedures and providing support for the testing of internal controls.
  • Participate in the monthly closing activities for various sites under corporate management.
  • Active participation of transfer price adjustments and profit in inventory analysis for all the international Amgen affiliates.
  • Maintenance of transfer price information for intercompany sales and inventory movements.
  • Develop and use financial models to make decisions.
  • Analyze data and present results to senior management in a professional, clear and concise manner.
  • Take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support different time zones locations, as per business needs.


Basic qualifications - education/licenses:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree & 2 years of accounting experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Educational background/discipline in Business Administration, Accounting and/or Finance
  • Experience is Expat Accounting
  • Experience with SAP
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility to support extended work schedules
