Job Description

Senior Analyst, Ovum IT | Informa TMT Intelligence, Remote Position

Ovum’s Infrastructure Solutions team advises vendors, service providers, and enterprises on trends in the IT technology market. Our focus combines a deep knowledge of relevant technologies, a strong appreciation of the strategic imperatives of IT, and how they work best within IT organizations.

In response to surging market demand, Ovum is adding a Senior Analyst or Analyst to our security team to help research the growing number of security technologies and solutions which are available to protect organizations and their most precious resource - data. Enterprises and vendors desperately need advice on which new techniques and mechanisms they should adopt to counter advanced threats, and also on how to invest in threat intelligence and the use of security analytics. In addition, Ovum is finding that point security solutions no longer meet the requirements of the enterprise and more emphasis should be placed on an end-to-end approach.

This Analyst role in Infrastructure Solutions team focuses on the security coverage area which includes identity and access management, endpoint security, information protection, and security management.

KEY SKILLS

  • Write impactful analysis which gives our clients unique insight into emerging opportunities resulting from the evolution of business and technology services.
  • Design, conduct and manage research and analysis, including in-depth discussions with senior industry figures, and enterprise IT leadership.

  • Confidently support our sales teams in meetings with existing and potential customers through your subject matter expertise.
  • Deliver a combination of syndicated content and directly generated revenue against your research coverage area to a specific target set for all Analysts.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Coverage area expertise: A keen interest and/or experience in the IT security industry, particularly related to identify management.
  • Strong business writing skills: You must write well. You will be comfortable writing both short, highly opinionated pieces, and longer, more discursive analyses. You will have a strong ability to structure complex threads of argument, and to explain the complex in simple terms.
  • Intellectual excellence: Successful candidates will have a strong track record of academic, commercial or otherwise influential achievement in the deployment and delivery of enterprise applications. At a minimum, you will be educated to bachelor’s degree level.
  • Strong team-working skills: Candidates will be part of a team of analysts with joint responsibility for developing our research. You will frequently work as part of a team on both analysis and consulting projects.
  • Client commitment: Ovum has built strong interactions with all our clients. Candidates must show both a desire and the ability to understand and meet clients’ needs rapidly, laying the foundations for long-term relationships that set us apart from our competitors.
  • Commercial focus: We have a proud tradition of strong growth and achievement at Ovum. Candidates must share this same philosophy and our entrepreneurial approach to ensure both our clients’ and our own success.
