Job Details

Due to growth and expansion, Carson is excited to fill this role for the company. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our high-performance team in a role that will allow for additional growth limited only by your own capabilities and aspirations.

 

Purpose: This position will be responsible for monitoring the daily activities of up to seventy drivers that make up our bulk fuel delivery team.

 

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate daily operational needs with the dispatch team.

  • Participate in shift planning and follow-up daily shift assignments to ensure customer expectations are met.

  • Review weekly projected volume demand to adjust driver shifts to meet demand.

  • Monitor driver and laborer time and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring that drivers do not exceed FMCSA hours of service regulations.

  • Coordinate scheduled sick and vacation time off

  • Ensure that drivers comply with FMCSA drug or alcohol required testing.

  • Ensure that drivers receive all necessary training and ongoing education required by the company, regulatory agencies, customers, and vendors.

  • Review customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety and delivery issues.

  • Work with the compliance team to assure all required driver credentials are in place and maintained

  • Work with Safety Manager to conduct root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, recommend policy and procedures to avoid such incidents in the future.

  • Recommend and oversee the administrations of any disciplinary action or re-training required for safety or procedural violations    

  • Establish and monitor productivity and safety targets for each driver.

  • Assist with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs.

  • Responsible quarterly driver reviews which will require ride along and onsite delivery procedure review.

Requirements

Required/Desired Job specifications:

  • Valid commercial drivers’ license.  Must meet all regulatory requirements to operate trucks and other equipment used.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in driver and logistics management.

  • Broad knowledge of FMCSA regulations.

  • Broad knowledge of the industry’s best safety practices

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation.

  • Computer literate with experience using excel, word, office, and hours of service management systems. 

  • Proficient in using CRM systems.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
