POSITION SUMMARY
The Oncology Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) is responsible for the submission of data; monitoring of protocol compliance; maintenance of complete and accurate shadow charts, research storage temperature logs, research specimen collection supplies and laboratory reference ranges and will serve as the investigator registration coordinator in cooperation with the Supervisor Oncology Clinical Research Nurse

The CRN interacts with investigators, AtlantiCare staff and research partners, study sponsors, and patients/families to support the conduct of clinical trials.

This position supports organizational goals by enhancing the customer experience, participating in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. CITI research training per the Geisinger IRB required within 2 weeks of hire.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required.Oncology Nursing Certification preferred.Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification required when eligible based upon research experience, SOCRA preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years oncology nursing experience preferred. Good working knowledge of medical terminology and the oncology disease process and treatment required. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and data base computer applications. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail required.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation (A&E) Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the outpatient medical and radiation oncology and infusion unit environments, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Work requires time with computer, fax/copier, printer, refrigerated centrifuge and specimen freezers.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Research Associate is responsible for the compilation and submission of data, monitoring of study compliance and maintaining a system for effective data flow in cooperation with the Clinical Research Coordinator.

Interact with physicians, regulatory department, sponsors, other members of healthcare team and patients/families in a way that supports the conduct of clinical trials.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred. BSN preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: CCRA preferred within 2 years from date of hire or transfer. SOCRA preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years oncology healthcare background preferred. Good working knowledge of medical terminology and proficient knowledge of oncology disease process and treatment required. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and data base computer applications.Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Works time with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.
