RF/SATCOM System Lead Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) SAIC has an opening for a qualified candidate to work on an exciting project! The selected candidate will manage and support the instructional systems design, development, and delivery of a training program focused on apprentice-level technical operation, maintenance, and handling/storage of complex weapon and sensor systems. A background in the planning, analysis, and design of Navy training products is desired, but not required. This is a classified program. The selected candidate will be expected to adhere to stringent security requirements. Responsibilities: This is a significant position in a high profile and technically challenging program for which you would be responsible for the planning, analysis, and design of a viable training solution to the customer. As the Lead ISD, you will be supporting the Program Manager and Lead Engineer in a team environment as well as individually, for support of analysis, development, evolution, implementation, and documentation of the entire enterprise.

In general terms, you will be required to:

- Prepare training curricula utilizing development applications to be delivered via computer-based training, eLearning environments, and/or learning management systems
- Conduct training analysis; design and develop training curricula; design and develop multimedia/web storyboards and training; and measure and evaluate effectiveness of training
- Support development of advanced concepts, techniques, and standards
- Develop new applications based on professional principles and theories
- Support development, modification, and execution of company policies which affect immediate operation(s) and may also have company- wide effect
- Participate in development of solutions to problems of an unusually complex nature, which require a high degree of ingenuity and innovation. Challenges are often unique and solutions may serve precedent for future decisions.
- Serve as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives
- Work under consultative direction toward pre-determined long-range goals and objectives
- Self-initiate assignments
- Make decisions that affect the financial, employee, or public relations posture of the organization. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to the major objectives of the organization and our customers.  

Specific duties include:

- Support PM, engineering staff, and SME to systematically analyze, design, prototype, test, and deploy training material for a major system-of-systems to an important customer. Work with SME, PM, and customer to develop training design(s) and baselines
- Design training program to enable apprentice-level detachment personnel (with knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) typical of those already provided in the currently existing billet structure) to operate and maintain a complex weapons and sensor system
- Perform task analysis to identify all operator and maintainer tasks; clearly define and document critical tasks. Provide results of task analysis in a Task Performance Analysis Report (TPAR) and Logistics Product Data (LPD).
- Design system training program as operations, maintenance, and handling/storage procedures derived from the TPAR and the LPD
- Conduct training analysis and design in accordance with the guidance provided in the "MIL-HDBK 29612A Guidance for Acquisition of Training Data Products and Services series" training
- Document developed training solution in the Training Situation Document
- Develop a Training Development Package for Operators and Maintainers
- Support functional capabilities for all major milestones.


- Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.


- Must be United States citizen
- Must possess a current DoD TS/SCI Clearance
- Must possess an SSBI that is current within the last 5 years
- Must able to pass a polygraph examination


- Demonstrated ability to use relevant ISD processes and methodologies to develop multimedia-based courseware and supporting training packages in a deadline-driven setting.
- Demonstrated capability to apply basic grammar, punctuation, as well as sentence and paragraph structure.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct a front-end analysis, develop learning objectives, and use various instructional methodologies in training design.
- Knowledge of adult learning strategies.
- Possess solid interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively in a team environment and lead small groups of training content developers. Must have experience working successfully as part of a team.
- Experience in designing, testing instructional content in a secure military environment
- Proven ability to design training products for complex systems
- Proven leadership skills
- Demonstrated successful project development and delivery history


- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field and thirteen (13) years or more related experience; or PhD in Education, Instructional Design, or related field and four (4) years or more related experience.
