Research Analyst, Meddevicetracker - Informa | Pharma Intelligence, San Diego, CA

 

Informa Pharma Intelligence is seeking an entry-level Research Analyst to join its San Diego Meddevicetracker team. Informa's Pharma Intelligence is the trusted partner of all of the top 50 global pharmaceutical companies and the top 10 contract research organizations (CRO's) -- providing timely intelligence and insight to make authoritative decisions.

 

Meddevicetracker is a real-time database that identifies medical device investment opportunities by assessing company pipelines and future catalysts. The Research Analyst role is an entry-level position heavily focused on data entry and is broadly responsible for supporting daily content operations, ensuring the quality and integrity of the Meddevicetracker database, providing research support to clients and supporting consulting/ad-hoc projects as necessary. These objectives are achieved through a solid understanding of the standard operating procedures and business rules of the database and various intelligence sources, collecting key device and trial data, conducting additional research and devising basic database search strategies for clients, and performing basic data analysis.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support Research Analyst team in maintaining a real-time and accurate database
  • Collect and track day-to-day market driven events pertaining to device and companies in the medtech industry and enter the data into our internal content management system
  • Provide clients with timely, coherent and accurate research support
  • Apply knowledge of the regulatory process, medical device and diagnostic development and clinical trials to provide highest quality data and support
  • Potentially progress into more advanced project work, content generation, or other content responsibilities
  • Perform other miscellaneous analyst duties as assigned

 

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (in STEM or business a plus, but not required)
  • Strong and demonstrated understanding of internet research skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with device development process and associated medtech markets a plus, but not required
  • Good organizational, time management and priority setting skills, and the flexibility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think critically, work independently and follow instructions
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team both in the office and off site
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
