PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages Process Cranes sales activity in the assigned territory. This position emphasizes on selling to process duty or high capacity crane equipment customers and Engineering companies (EPC) in industries such as steel mills, steel distribution, Aluminum mills, Foundry's, Waste to Energy/biomass plants, paper mills, automotive plants, power generation, general manufacturing, mining, petrochemicals, etc. Following are the position requirements/expectations:
  • Identifying and tracking large process crane projects.
  • Introduce Konecranes to leading companies in the region.
  • Solicits inquiries for new crane projects and do appropriate spec take-off with working knowledge of all KC products.
  • Proficient use of Konecranes CRM tool for sales case management
  • Thorough Efecte software inquiry documentation
  • Effective lead follow-up and new lead development
  • Cost estimating and preparation of proposals. Work closely with Offer engineering to develop estimates and offers to the customer with the correct and best fit KC crane designs.
  • Can sell value added products with an emphasis on "Selling Safety".
  • Proficient use of internal estimating software - Markman
  • Submit accurate and routine sales reports
  • Preparation of PowerPoint presentations and subsequent Presentation skills to successfully explain KC offering/quotations to customers and follow up with additional information as required to complete the sale.
  • Manages all commercial issues before and after the sale - Terms and conditions.
  • Handles negotiations re: additions, changes and amendment to a customer request.
  • Enter clean commercial and technical orders in a timely manner
  • Assists with collections when requested.
  • Assists with resolution of warranty issues when requested.
  • Position located ideally in Houston, TX or the southwestern US with travel throughout the Western US required - up to 30%-50%. The sales territory would be shared with another ETO sales person in a team approach.
  • A training period and associated compensation package will be presented.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years experience in overhead crane sales preferably in the application of heavy duty material handling equipment or have the aptitude to learn on a fast track in thed field of capital equipment sales. Knowledgeable in sales and estimating with a thorough understanding of reading drawings. Highly developed communication, sales organization, and estimating skills. Working knowledge of estimating and design software. Must be proficient in MS Office products.
  • EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering preferred of equivalent technical crane knowledge.
