Position Summary:

As a Principal Application Developer at ADP, we are looking for someone who's had real world experience in solving business problems. We're interested in learning your experience on Developing fault-tolerant, scalable and decoupled software solutions using the latest cutting edge technology and platforms. This position requires hands on coding & strong development and leadership experience. You will be part of agile environment working with a team of talented engineers, product owners & other stakeholders continually developing, deploying and testing application software.

In this role, you will be part of the Global Enterprise Technology & Solutions division that provides front line support for ADP's service organizations. You will be a technology leader, teacher, and the person the team looks to go for technical guidance. You will apply your experience across a range of internal applications across the enterprise in order to get our Client's a fast solution to the issues they face day to day. In this role, you will make positive contributions to strengthen our product experience that will allow ADP to be the leading global HCM provider.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building appropriate solutions to business problems
  • Research, Design, Develop, as well as modify enterprise-wide systems/applications
  • Prototyping solutions and recommending the adoption of new technologies in order to continually improve our client experience.
  • Support Development and Deployment of application software releases to production and Non Production environments
  • Self-reliant, hands-on position that leads and drives code quality while maintaining application stability in an agile environment.
  • Collaborate with architectural peers, product owners, UX/UI, Internal/External stakeholders and globally distributed teams to understand requirements and develop application in compliance to client needs
  • Assist in the development of overall project plans and timetables, analysis and identification of intermediate deliverables
  • Define engineering best practices and mentor teams to write elegant code. Ideally using effective automated unit tests & Test Driven Development methodologies
  • Develop specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple, dynamic priorities
  • Leading and mentoring other associates on the team and within in the greater organization from a technical perspective.

Technical Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of strong technical experience with hands-on in application development / system / platform / integration and testing software/solutions
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in modular/OO programming and Software Development Life Cycle and comfortable in the Full Stack, understanding of Clean Coding and SOLID principles of software development
  • Strong understanding of working with Native HTML Web Components and the Polymer.JS Library or Lit-Element
  • Strong experience with JavaScript and high comfort level with Typescript
  • Strong Development Experience with Web-API, Restful and SOAP-based web services
  • Strong Experience with ASP.NET/MVC and the .NET Frameworks, ASP.NET Core preferred
  • Very strong knowledge of common Internet technologies (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX and CSS (CSS3))
  • Demonstrate significant experience working with relational databases, SQL Server and Entity Framework (EF Core preferred)
  • Comfortable working in SCRUM/Agile methodologies and ceremonies
  • Comfortable using source control systems and work item management systems such as TFS and BitBucket/GitHub
  • Unit Testing experience testing C# and JavaScript Technologies
  • Must have experience taking an application from concept to Production -- comfort with IIS and other web server technologies
  • In this role, it will be helpful to have experience with
    • Microsoft Team Found Server Build/Release Automation experience
    • JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, Knockout, etc.
    • NoSQL Databases
  • Experience in designing & building responsive User Interfaces across various browser platforms
  • Must be comfortable working with a mixture of on-site and global remote team members
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, Punctual, team player who excels in a collaborative environment, while maintaining a positive, team-first attitude.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability, and willing to contribute beyond job role and responsibilities

Leadership Qualifications:

  • Must have the heart of a teacher and skills to work as a development team lead.
  • Servant Leadership -- willing to put team members success and success of the product ahead of personal ambitions
  • Experience teaching through peer programming, code reviews, and team demonstrations
  • Willingness to engage with all team members, both global and remote with the goal of product and team improvement
  • Maintain positive morale while championing working processes and methodologies
