Carson is looking for a Pricing Operations Specialist who will manage the day-to-day pricing demands for our customers and our staff across multiple business units. This position will be responsible for tactical response of daily business needs as well as the direct action needed to generate company profitability.



  • Focused on maximizing operating effectiveness and efficiencies by optimizing load plans.[KM1] 
  • Provide guidance to other internal departments on how to utilize new or existing pricing methodologies.
  • Listen and understand the needs of our customers and our staff to help drive company profitability.[KM2] 
  • Help build automations and integrations to speed up our purchase and delivery reconciliation processes.[KM3] 
  • Evaluate processes and procedures within operations and recommend solutions that drive profitable results.
  • Refining daily strategies to be consistently focused on market driven opportunities for our customers and our own profitability.
  • Monitor daily pricing operations to ensure systems are functioning better every day to support operational excellence.
  • Pricing Operations Data integrity within our systems[NA4] [NW5] .
  • Generating and Communicating mandatory measurable reports for leadership to make smart decisions.
  • Assist in monthly retail cost maintenance from retail vendors.
  • Process new retail items for C-Stores as they come in.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with C-Store managers and retail vendors.
  • Execute on solutions that are in line with company growth objectives.
  • Align with the company’s vision for meaningful change.


Relationships and Roles:

  • Reports to the Pricing Manager but will work collaboratively and seek support and/or advice from entire pricing team and key members of the Sales and Dispatch teams.

  • Strong understanding of the dynamics and requirements with customers and markets.
  • Understands the differences between privately held and publicly held organizations.
  • Specific product development and project team management experience.

  • Four-year degree in accounting, finance, operations, research, statistics, math, economics, or any related process and/or analytical discipline from an accredited university preferred.
  • Experience in all aspects of developing and/or maintaining pricing strategies to meet organizational objectives preferred.
  • Experience with transportation business and/or commodity business is encouraged.
  • Experience and success where critical thinking and problem-solving were used to develop and implement process and system enhancements.
  • Proficiency with analytical and automation tools is preferred (Regression Analytics, SQL and SSRS, PowerBI, Visual basic, etc.).
  • Proficiency with various Microsoft systems is preferred (Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, PowerPoint, SQL, etc.).
  • Understanding Commodity market dynamics and requirements is encouraged. 
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Detail Oriented, Task Oriented, and strong Follow-up qualities.
  • Ability to design, develop and implement both strategic programs and supporting tactics.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, and continue to execute efficiently and cooperatively within tight timelines and with high client expectations.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language.
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes.
  • Quick learner who is eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, reaching out to other departments to make today better than yesterday, but even more importantly is planning to make tomorrow better than today.
