Responsibilities

Summary: Under general supervision, manages all assigned vendor 3rd party contracts, including the accurate and timely processing of contracts awards, and strategic pricing initiatives.  Prepares various analyses and works with Pricing team, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure compliance with Company’s pricing strategy.

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
  • Acts as the focal point of contact with the National Accounts Team for all contractual matters and is a liaison with customers and internal departments for all matters affecting contracts.
  • Reviews prior to final approval all 3rd party contract related documents including but not limited to Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) submissions.
  • Processing and administering contract set-up and implementation ensuring compliance with terms and conditions of the contractual agreement (new awards and modifications) including contract pricing, administrative fees, rebates and membership eligibility.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures by maintaining contractual documentation and file set-up information.
  • Maintain and execute of all renewal customer contracts.
  • Establish relationships with key vendors in order to expedite and help with contract pricing issues. Assist in the research of vendor and customer disputes to resolve timely cost discrepancies on invoices. Analyze and perform to steadily enhance pricing models for improved accuracy plus program profitability and minimize chargeback discrepancies.
  • Receives and updates contract membership eligibility from vendors and group purchasing organizations on a daily basis.
  • Updates the Contract Management System to reflect a member’s start and end date on a contract; validates and updates a member’s DEA or HIN, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for researching those chargeback rejections due to membership. Responds to membership eligibility inquiries from Sales Teams, as well as working with the vendors and Contracted Entities in order to resolve Membership questions and discrepancies.
  • Serve as back up support to team during high demand cycles (e.g. audits, month and quarter end pricing loads). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Pharmaceutical principles, practices and their applications.
  • Business English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Business and personal computer hardware and software applications, including Microsoft Office and TPS on AS/400.
  • Good understanding of costs and profit margins.
  • Data collection and analysis procedures and computational methods.
  • Customer contracts and pricing experience pred.
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical distribution and telesales business.
  • Principles of mathematics and statistical computations.
  • Current Company policies and practices, including safety rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Incumbents in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, stooping and crouching climbing and walking, vision to monitor, occasional lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to 50-70 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, and minimum of two (2) or more year’s experience, pably in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or food industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
