Responsibilities

Perspecta has an immediate opening for aPersonnel Security Manager.

We are seeking a dynamic, well organized and highly motivated individual with prior relevant experience to serve as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) and Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to ensure full-scope program support and compliance in the Herndon, VA area. The AFSO/CPSO will be responsible for ensuring the companys adherence to policies, practices, and procedures of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and for implementing the policies, practices, and procedures contained within. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate security procedures to employees and subcontractors, and provide guidance and assistance to project managers and staff in meeting security requirements
  • Provide oversight of the processing of new employee security clearances including tracking within JPAS (Joint Personnel Adjudication System) and Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
  • Oversight and administration for a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness programs for cleared employees to include conducting Initial Security Briefings, Refresher Training, and Debriefings
  • Maintain all security documentation and files accurately for personnel security using Access Commander and in accordance with requirements
  • Responsible for issuance of Visit Authorization Letters
  • Investigate and review security violations, and prepare reports.
  • Ensure that terminated cleared employees receive security debriefings and complete the security out-processing.

Qualifications

  • Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
  • MUST HOLD AN ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must have experience with DOD processes and procedures or an equivalent regulatory environment and/or military training.
  • Must have a complete understanding of NISPOM.
  • Must possess the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of problems.
  • Strong communication, computer, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to initiate and plan projects, and analyze and interpret data.
  • The ability to produce appropriate clear, concise and detailed documentation.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency with JPAS, DISS, and e-QIP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial Security Professional (ISP)
  • Access Commander database experience
