Job Description:

Space and Launch Division - S&L provides technical and programmatic support to coordinate and execute acquisition, Division: payload engineering, vehicle engineering, adjunct payload accommodation, and integration, test and launch functions for spacecraft and adjunct payloads. Branch: Payload Engineering Payload Engineering requires a payload mixed signal engineer with technical expertise in spacecraft payload mixed signal circuit design. The selected candidate will be an integral participant in payload mixed signal circuit trades, design, performance analysis and hardware development. Key areas of focus include mixed signal circuit design trades, performance predictions and/or evaluations, system impact evaluations, hardware assembly and test and mixed signal circuit subsystem integration. Candidate should be experienced in the design & integration of satellite payloads and knowledgeable of space system development and space vehicle development.

The following tasks are representative of those that will be accomplished at the request of the customer:

Detailed Job Description:

Support the customer in the oversight of the design, integration and test of spacecraft payloads

Provide expert advice and coordination concerning mixed signal circuit development

Assess feasibility of new mixed signal insertions and mixed signal circuit functionality enhancements

Review and coordinate on changes to specifications, ICDs and system level requirements documentation pertaining to the functionality and accommodation of mixed signal hardware onto the satellite bus

Review mixed signal circuit manufacturing specifications for accuracy and ensure documentation is complete and accurate

Review drawings, documents and procedures for mixed signal circuit design, manufacturing, integration, program planning and execution: provide comments to the contractor and/or government

Track development issues, significant accomplishments and upcoming events and provide weekly status updates to the customer

Develop mixed signal circuit models for performance evaluations and predictions

Attend mixed signal and payload level design reviews and program management reviews to assess RF design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the USG Identify and assess emerging risks; develop and evaluate proposed burn-down plans

Review prime contractor readiness to proceed into mixed signal hardware manufacturing and test Provide expert advice/analysis on interface considerations for new mixed signal developments

Coordinate with payload subsystem leads, branch chiefs and division chiefs both within S&L and outward to SE&I/AP in support of new payload and payload subsystem initiatives

Provide support to launch and satellite on-orbit test as required by the customer

Attend branch meetings as appropriate at the request of the customer to coordinate support activities

Provide technical evaluation of payload efforts in contractor Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)

Attend contractor milestone reviews (e.g. PDR, CDR, pretest, pre-ship and other meetings) to provide technically based recommendations regarding satisfaction of mixed signal-related review entrance and exit criteria

Provide support to factory integration and test activities as required

Develop productive relationships with prime contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other payload and payload subsystem subject matter experts

Advise and mentor USG Payload mixed signal subsystem personnel regarding mixed signal circuit and subsystem design elements

Other duties as specified by the customer

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience

Clearance Requirement:

Must currently possess or be able to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly security clearance
