Duties and Responsibilities

  • Forecast sales and gross profits for assigned sales territories
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources.
  • Travels throught assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
  • Completes questionnaire for management on all new customers.
  • Displays or demonstrates product knowledge, using catalog and/or samples, and emphasize salable features.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, PDF adn STEP files.
  • Follows up on price quotations with customers.
  • Follows up on credit terms and assists Credit Department in collections when necessary.
  • Records sales and gross profit to customer call sheet monthly.
  • Handles customer complaints and communicagtes other pertinent information to management.
  • Prepares expense reprot for monthly sales expenses.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.  Abilityu to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a varitety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • B.A. or equivalent preferred; 1-2 related experience and/or training; or at discretion of hiring manager.
