* build manufacturability and cost-effectiveness into new products.

## Education

* University degree in a technical subject such as optics, physics, or mechanics, with experience with optical manufacturing processes and related cost analyses or equivalent experience.

## Experience

5-10 years in the optical fabrication industry, including:

* Experience in optical manufacturing and cost engineering and/or cost-reduction projects
* Understanding of supply-chain management and technical interaction to evaluate
* manufacturing steps, capabilities and costs
* Experience in industrial engineering and/or manufacturing
* Technical leadership of equipment and processes for optical fabrication is preferred

## Personal skills

To develop and build those machines, we work closely with an extensive supplier network. Manufacturability and Cost are increasingly important topics, and cost reduction by improving manufacturability of sub-systems has been kicked off for all product platforms. You will be working closely with system engineers, design engineers, project managers, supply chain engineers, and procurement account managers within ASML, as well as with external suppliers to ensure that optical metrology systems meet performance and cost targets.
