Job Description

Agribusiness Intelligence, part of the international Informa group, is currently recruiting for a News Analyst to join their market-leading information brand in London or Germany. In this role, you will be a core player within agribusiness intelligence’s provision of news, information, analysis and forecasts of the global commodities sector, specifically focusing on the tropical soft commodities.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an established or aspiring News Analyst to develop their expertise and reputation within a niche industry sector, and gain recognition as a thought leader within a best-in-class business intelligence product.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Produce high quality, original content in written form: Produce news and analysis of various types, ranging from breaking news to in-depth market / sector analysis.

Reporting and analysis in specialist area: Original reporting on news developments and other issues of concern and interest to target audience, based on face-to-face, telephone and email conversations with key contacts.

Produce rich media form content (graphics, dashboards, data tools, etc): Create dashboards or charts (or work with Production team member to have these produced) to illustrate key market, industry or policy developments, drawing on the data resources available.

Network building: Develop a network of key contacts in the market / sector / industry who can provide insight, comments, verification or quotes (depending on context).

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent qualification.
  • A Journalism background is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the commodities sector is advantageous.
  • Excellent secondary research skills and the ability to uncover unique insights and analysis.
  • Experience of developing a new market information product would be desirable.
