The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.


Responsibilities

  • The Network Engineer designs and plans network communications systems.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conduct testing of network design.
  • Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
  • Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Advise network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as such as Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Conduct system administration, installation, troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, backup and restoration support for network defense sensors and scanners, including all hardware and software.

Qualifications

Required:
Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA, 8 to 10 years with MS, or 5 to 7 with a PHD degree in related fields, such as computer science or technical discipline.
IAT level II certification Network+ or Security+; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); VMWare Certified Associate (VCA), MCSE (Server Infrastructure), Unix, Firewall, HBSS, & ITIL
Cyber operations and Computer Network Defense experience
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment, as needed.


Desires:
Familiarity with network operations programs governing directives.
Understanding of the U.S. Air Forces ranks, structure, and operations.
Experience with Enterprise Security Manager toolset
