Job Description

Position Summary:  Provide scientific/medical leadership and support for late stage development compounds and commercialized products in relevant  therapeutic area.  Lead integrated strategic planning for the assigned medicines within Global Medical Affairs as well as with strategic partners in Commercial, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Clinical Research and Regulatory Affairs.  Represent Global Medica Affairs in strategic discussions regarding medical launch preparation, lifecycle management, business development, clinical research and health economics and outcomes research planning.  Work closely with External Experts, Key Opinion Leaders and Patient Representatives to build advocacy in the relevant therapeutic areas and for the assigned TEVA assets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Global Medical point of contact for designated medicine(s) within the relevant therapeutic area/franchise.  Responsible for medical and scientific leadership and support to current  and future commercialized medicines, and issues management for current medicines


Provide medical contribution in the development of the global strategic brand plans and operating plans, in collaboration with other cross-functional teams


Accountable for development and execution of Global Medical Affairs plan.  These will include responsibilities such as Phase IIIb/IV trial activities (such as protocol development, medical governance and interpretation of results); development of Key Opinion Leader strategy and plan; scientific congress ativities (such as medical symposium, presentation of abstracts and or posters); input to publication strategy and review of Investigator Sponsored Studies


Co ordination and execution of overall medical strategy for Tevas relevant therapeutic area specialty brands in close collaboration with Regional Medical Affairs teams, from initiation of regional pre-launch activities to several years post-launch


Contributor and support to the Global Medical Matrix Team responsible for the world-wide medical strategy for the relevant therapeutic area


Interface effectively with other Global Medical Affairs functions such as Scientific Communications and Health Economics and Outcomes Research, and other departments, including Commercial, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance



  • MD required
  • Clinical experience with Respiratory disease; Asthma and COPD
  • Broad knowledge of drug development, clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, business development and life cycle management
  • 5 years of Medical Affairs experience in relevant therapeutic are
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience and clinical research experience.
  • Ideally leadership experience in developing strategy and executing medical plans, and in building professional external expert networks.
  • Board Certification in Pulminary disease or Allergy
