## Job Mission

The mission of Competency Engineering is to enable our service engineers in the field, to be successful in supporting our customers. As an expert in the competence of material quality you will function as the technical interface between CS field MRT (Material Review Team) and ASML Headquarters (Central) for material used in DUV system.
In this role you will be responsible for the completeness of the knowledge base and work instructions for improving material quality and securing material value as an asset of ASML.


You combine in-depth knowledge with field experience and the ability to consolidate this into worldwide best practices. Next to your CS field colleagues, you will interface with the Development & Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain sectors. Your awareness of the environment in which your field service colleagues perform maintenance, enables you to identify and resolve gaps in our service mix and to deliver end-user feedback towards improvement projects in Veldhoven.

## Job Description

The CS central MRT will identify quality gaps in the ASML goods (return) flows between warehouses and customer sites including identifying root-causes of these gaps. The CS central MRT will support the field analysis of part failures to identify failure mode root-causes. He/she will define and implement process improvements and measure success. Stakeholder management and process alignment (between Customer Service, ASML Headquarter and Customer Supply Chain) are key factors for success.
In the ASML product life cycle you will have the following responsibilities:


* Perform in-depth analysis of structural parts & tools and process issues of the high-volume installed base at our customers;


* Identify structural improvements to the design of ASML products and estimate their impact on CS operation;


* Identify structural improvements to the Service Mix and implement them globally in CS;


* Handshake and validate Service Mix that is supplied with new products and functionalities by Development & Engineering while safeguarding the needs for Fab Teams to be able to execute maintenance independently of external support;


* Transfer and maintain all relevant knowledge to the CS field engineers in the form of documentation, training and other means of knowledge transfer;


* Facilitate and maintain a global competency network;


* Support escalated root cause analysis of defect parts (scope: Dead on Arrival (DoA), warranty, Field Service Defect (FSD) of service parts and tools);


* Parts failure intake and Root Cause Analysis reporting;


* Collect facts and figures and create business cases for improvements;


* Analyze processes related to material flow / handling and service execution to identify quality gaps;


* Raise the overall level of quality knowledge and awareness of the CS organization through hands-on application of continuous improvement tools and concepts;


* Drive the material use efficiency within the CS organization to improve profitability;


* Become one of the “Go-To persons” for the CS MRT organization with respect to continuous improvement;


* Help in setting up local and central Material Review Teams and getting related procedures and check-lists in place.

## Education

Bachelor or Master degree: like Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, (Applied) Physics or equivalent experience.

## Experience



* Several years in the area of providing service and/or parts quality improvement


* Relevant work experience within Customer Support ASML


* Project management skills are preferred


* ASML quality improvement projects experience preferred

## Context of the position

Position in the Organization
The position is created in CS ENG Competency Engineering as part of CS Service Engineering in the Field Performance Improvements group. The CS Central MRT Competency Engineer reports to the group lead CS SE Competency Engineering.
Context of the position
The sector Customer Support (CS) is responsible for the maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of ASML systems at customer locations, as well as transferring all relevant knowledge and supporting the customer in the use of these systems in his production process. CS Central takes care that effective support of the customer by local offices is possible by providing knowledge, technical support and process support to those field offices.
At first the CS Central MRT Competency Engineer will participate in the “perfect material return” project that aims at improving the material (tools / parts) return flow from customer fab and ASML in order to improve on DoA (quality), warranty claim success rate, logistics cost reduction. Setting up a local and central material review team is part of this project. In this context the reporting line will be with the Project Lead of this project.
