  • Working with editorial team and other contributors to plan story line-ups and assignments supporting an editorial culture of open dialogue, constructive feedback and collaboration.
  • Setting schedules and deadlines, ensuring products publish on schedule, co-ordinating article postings to ensure industry balance on home pages.
  • Liaising with Design team about print story layouts and exhibit design.
  • Identifying leads for original editorial content (in-house generated and commissioned articles) through a network of contacts.
  • Promoting cross-departmental collaboration to generate original content and increase brand awareness of the products.
  • Reviewing articles and editing content for publication to meet editorial standards of quality, excellence, accuracy and style.
  • Supporting sales with content-related queries from prospective clients.
  • Working with marketing on campaigns to promote original content.
  • Supervising any direct and indirect editorial team member reports.

What we are looking for:

  • Several years' experience writing for a respected industry or national publication, both reporting on and analysing news and trends.
  • Several years' experience of the pharmaceutical industry, either as a writer or working within the industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on journalism and/or sciences, science policy or equivalent career
    experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the pharma and/or medtech industry – including the companies, dynamics (commercial, financial, regulatory and market access) and trends that shape the industry (e.g. major issues affecting markets).
  • A proven ability to research and generate content or ideas across various subjects – such as commercial (investment, R&D, M&A, financials), market developments and regulation and policy.
  • An established network of contacts in the pharma/medtech industry (manufacturers, regulatory bodies, consultants and legal firms).
  • An ability to use complex analysis and/or data to identify market impacting events and relationships that deliver deep understanding of market direction and change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on the ability to gain the cooperation of sources.
