Individual will be required to commute to the PA office for a certain period of time for training and transition through Q4 2019; Limited domestic travel once position is relocated to Parsippany.

Job Description

The Manager, Accounting will be responsible to for valuation assessment for almost 300 pipeline projects and commercialized assets. This requires the Manager to have a strong understanding of products, contractual terms, development progress, industry and market dynamics as well as US GAAP.  Manager, Accounting is responsible for analysis of current and future partner agreements for technical accounting implications.  This role will also support analysis of sales reserves for the US as well as profit share reporting for 100 currently partnered products. 



Coordination with internal business partners to perform  FAS 141 intangible asset valuations and fair value of contingent consideration assessment.  Documentation of assumptions, including changes in product forecasts, product success rates and resulting impacts on product asset and liability accounts


Review accounting pronouncements issued by standard setting bodies and determine if applicable to business activities and transactions.  Advise management about impact of new standards on the US Teva entity.  Document guidance and implications in an accounting whitepaper and present to management.


Support analysis of sales reserves, on-going and formalized month-end / quarter-end basis including  sales, rates, wholesaler inventories, returns, in transit shipments, Medicaid, and other data for accuracy and completeness to ensure appropriate reserves and resolve variances to forecast. 


Reviewing the analysis of sales trends, adjustments, and reserves and communication of the financial implications on profit sharing with partners and overall profitability with internal business stakeholders      


Responsible for formal analysis of contracts under ASC 606 for revenue recognition


Support external reporting group in developing and maintaining financial accounting policies as it relates to new accounting pronouncements or transaction accounting


Support Directors and Sr. Management with requests and inquiries as required by the business.


Assisting in the management of third party reviews as requested by business partners and conducted by staff and audit firms


Participation in financial statement close process for partner products including but not limited to reviewing and posting journal entries, review of calculations and variance analysis, and other ad-hoc analysis as required. 

High visibility role, will be interacting with R&D, Finance and Commercial teams

Follows Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures. 


Other projects and duties as required/assigned




Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.  CPA preferred.


5+ years progressive accounting experience required


Deep knowledge of US GAAP, preferably with revenue recognition, variable interest entities, business combinations, asset purchases, and impairment reviews


Advanced Excel skills required.
