Managed Account Manager – Informa | Maritime Intelligence, New York, NY


Informa Maritime Intelligence has a newly created opportunity for a Managed Account Manager to join our team in New York City. Lloyd's List Intelligence is founded on the heritage of the industry bible, Lloyd's List. Plus, our unique global network of specialist sources of business-critical maritime data. It brings together the expertise of a global staff of maritime analysts and journalists with the most extensive system of shore based and satellite intelligence gathering to create the complete information support service for the maritime industry.


The Managed Account colleague within Informa Maritime Intelligence, will execute against sales goals with respect to forecasting and revenue attainment. This generally includes managing a renewable account base, qualifying and disqualifying new business opportunities, learning customer decision/making process, creating and maintaining accurate forecasts, negotiating contracts, closing business in a timely manner, and fully comprehending the Informa Maritime Intelligence unique value proposition.


Role Responsibilities 

  • Accountability for driving revenue growth across the vertical to meet or exceed expectations, including identification of revenue drivers and metrics to focus on increasing account volume, profit and penetration.
  • Monitoring performance-to-plan throughout the financial year and adjusting direction, focus and sales initiatives as needed to deliver volume commitments.
  • Providing forecasting within a 95% accuracy rate to create visibility with all market owners on revenue trends and actions to drive revenues to plan.
  • Understanding the solution sales cycle and challenges, including the strategies of competitors, and leveraging this knowledge to hone sales strategies.
  • Working with Product Management to use customer feedback and analytical insights in the formation of new products/solutions.
  • Giving the highest priority to customer satisfaction by maintaining effective interpersonal relationships with and listening to customers.
  • Responding to Customer survey results in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute effectively to a highly driven, yet collaborative and cohesive team dynamic.


Required Skills

  • A minimum of 1 years’ sales experience, with demonstrable ability to extend and add to existing revenue streams within a defined key account base within the intelligence sector
  • Proficiency in Spanish Language is ideal
  • Additional experience within either Insurance, Finance, Shipping, Energy or Governmental sectors would be ideal
  • Demonstrated success in closing insight or services business excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Must be flexible with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all colleagues
  • Candidate will need to be self-starter, with the ability to develop a business plan
  • Highly competitive and results-driven
  • Powerful verbal and written communication
  • Strong account management and relationship building skills.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to successfully manage up and down
  • Proven track record in Account Management building/executing successful account plans.
  • Passionate, positive and enthusiastic
