This position provides managerial and operational guidance to direct reports within the department. The incumbent manages the maintenance and process improvement of production equipment and facility maintenance.

1). Manage maintenance and related process improvements to ensure reliable and compliant production equipment operation. Perform and execute planning and scheduling of maintenance activities, including scheduling and hiring of outside contractors to complete production and facility repairs. Write, schedule, review and close work orders including production equipment preventive maintenance work orders.

Downtime metrics. Resolve problems in a timely manner with minimal equipment down time. Ensure repairs are made within time lines

2). Assist the production group with technical problems and operational issues. Assist the process engineering group with process improvement.

3). Schedule and perform annual production equipment rebuilds and facility shut downs as needed.

Procedures are reviewed and changes are made and implemented. Employees are aware of the changes and are executing procedures in accordance with the changes.

4). Write departmental procedures (SOP's, Preventive Maintenance Procedures etc.) in compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policy and procedures. Write and complete Change Controls as needed.

5). Perform follow up of completed work, evaluations on direct reports. Provides regular coaching, feedback, and support to subordinates. Identifies additional development and training opportunities for direct reports.

Verifies that all work has been completed and documented according to regulations and policies and procedures. Completes MAG, Talent Assessment, and ensures training is completed according to time lines provided by the business.

6). Identify and stock critical spare parts to support production. Research and purchase new equipment and or tools to support production processes.

Production equipment downtime elimination and schedule attainment.

  • High School Diploma/GED and professional Training/Certification in Maintenance Related Field required (Refrigeration, Electrical, and Boiler or Apprenticeship Training preferred).
  • 8 years’ experience in a maintenance craft. 3 years’ supervisory experience in a maintenance related field.
  • Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels. Experience with CMMS maintenance software & SAP preferred. Boiler Level 1 Certification, preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to customer needs. Excellent internal customer service. Ability to prioritize business needs. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and post-offer physical5 years’ leadership experience. Leading projects. Responsible for 2-6 MAGs. Providing direction to employees for which he doesn’t have MAG responsibility. Indirect budgetary impact up to $100,000. Interfaces with Production, R&D and Quality Control.
