Perspecta has an immediate need for a Lead Senior ServiceNow Developer in the Washington D.C. Metro area. The Lead ServiceNow Developer is responsible for working with mission and operational customers within the organization to decompose requirements, define the work, gather priorities, and write secure and efficient code on the ServiceNow platform to either enhance or build new applications. ServiceNow is gaining significant traction as the platform of choice for rapid application development. The Lead Senior ServiceNow Developer will build new, evolve existing, and maintain and troubleshoot the growing ServiceNow portfolio.

The Lead Senior ServiceNow Developer needs excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated leadership ability. They will provide guidance and mentorship to other developers, and have significant interface with our client.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with customers to define requirements and features for enhancements and new applications on the ServiceNow platform
  • Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of applications
  • Configure/Customize ServiceNow applications, platform and integrations including creating workflows and customizing the UI
  • System integrations, custom code development, 3rd-party application API integration
  • Support day to day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for any issues that arise with administered systems
  • Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Develop and customize dashboards and reports through ServiceNow
  • Play an important function of gathering business requirements, testing, developing and implementing changes
  • Participate in daily standups, planning sessions, prioritization meetings, and build/deploy activities
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to meet changing business requirements and mission needs

Qualifications

  • 15 years of relevant IT experience to include 3 years of implementing and administering ServiceNow solutions; MS degree and 5 years experience of relevant IT experience to include 3 years of implementing and administering ServiceNow solutions
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow Development Platform including, but not limited to:
    o IT Service Management (ITSM)
    o IT Operations Management (ITOM) including Discovery
    o IT Business Management (ITBM) including Project and Portfolio Management
    o Asset Management
    o Change Management
    o Custom Development
  • Extensive understanding of the ways in which ServiceNow can be configured and customized and scripting within the tool
  • Possess the skill to develop on the ServiceNow platform including customization of the core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Catalog
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow system administration and the configuration of ServiceNow instances
  • Ability to coordinate configuration changes, installs, and upgrades with application owners including planning, scheduling, status reporting, and following company change control procedures
  • Develop, code, test, and debug existing ServiceNow applications
  • Experience in developing/designing with JavaScript, XML,JSON, HTML, and CSS
  • Ability to create technical support documentation and written procedures for routine and non-routine tasks
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively relate to agency and customer needs
  • Must be able to work independently on a project, seeing it from inception to completion
  • Experience leading development and/or test teams
  • Effective communications skills, both oral and written
  • Experience leading technical discussions with internal and external customers
  • non-dual, U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.


Highly Preferred:

  • Experience with DevOps pipeline tools including configuration management, requirements (e.g. Jira), automated testing, and deployment
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems (SOAP, REST, and JSON as well as JDBC and file imports)
  • Experience implementing systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Administration of a ServiceNow instance including the management of users, groups, and roles, CMS Development, ACLs, business rules, workflows, UI actions, UI policies, dictionary, and catalog items
  • Orchestration and Discovery experience
  • Experience with Agile development methodology
  • Experience with rebuilding legacy applications in ServiceNow
  • HTML5, Jelly, jQuery and AngularJS experience
  • Federal government experience
  • Certifications preferred - ServiceNow System Administrator, ServiceNow Implementation Specialist or ServiceNow Application Developer
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • ITIL Foundations Certification
