Job Description

Position Summary:   The IDN Kam will identify, develop and maintain relationships with strategically important thought leaders and key influencers in assigned territory.  KAMs will be responsible for developing opportunities within IDN and institutional markets for Teva generic injectables, oral solids and targeted Teva brand products to meet assigned goals. The IDN KAM is responsible for developing contracts with large IDNs, working GPO contract compliance to increase pull through sales and gathering and reporting market intelligence.  The KAMs will also be responsible to successfully develop long-term working relationships with their IDN accounts while collaborating and partnering with various North American Commercial strategic partners such as Sales Teams, MOLs, RAMs, Brand Team, Finance, Contract/Pricing Strategy Teams, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities                                                                                                                  

  • Key Account Managers are responsible for executing the strategy to attain the goals and quotas of the Commercial group within their individual assigned territories
  • Have a working knowledge of generic and brand pharmaceutical Industry, contracting, distribution/wholesaler  channels, pricing structures, chargeback programs, institutional sales, group purchasing organizations (GPOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs)
  • Understand formulary and P&T processes for assigned IDNs and key institutions to assist in gaining formulary access for targeted Teva products
  • Penetrate assigned IDNs and institutions to the highest levels to build relationships necessary to achieve desired objectives
  • Analyze territory as a business unit with the aid of Teva provided resources.  This includes being able to build and present a quarterly business review
  • Work cohesively with members of the national account team, marketing, and management in order to achieve distribution and sales objectives
  • Represent and promote Tevas products and image in a professional, productive manner while adhering to Teva compliance, aggregate spend and travel policies and guidelines.
  • Record account information and competitive intelligence and prices through available resources


Position Requirements

Education Required: Bachelors degree

Education Preferred: MBA

Experience Required:            

  • Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceuticals and/or hospital device/equipment sales required, experience in institutional and/or IDN account management preferred
  • Experience working in teams

Experience Preferred:

  • 7+ years in pharmaceutical industry/institutional and/or sales/market access
  • People management and/or home office experience
