Responsibilities

General Description

The IT Operations Analyst III provides technical expertise in managing others with Cloud Hosting Change, Incident and Problem Management within an existing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) leveraged Data Center. The ideal candidate must be able to work across multiple technical disciplines and data center environments to be able to forecast and implement change. Develops strategy of the client/server system and the process architecture to support strategy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Researches new technology and advises on purchases for the client regarding how the program can acquire, install, configure and operate in a cloud environment.
  • Develops strategies for conducting studies to estimate the space, computer hardware, software and connection infrastructure resources required on a short and long-term basis.
  • Develops models of the computer and computer application environment, identifies and resolves computer operations systems performance problems.
  • Measures system usage by workload type, identifying trends and estimating further resource requirements.
  • May be assigned responsibility for the management of the IT operations function, including associated staff.
  • Ability to communicate across multiple vendor and government teams is necessary for the ideal candidate to be successful in this role, especially in driving a common understanding of how technical changes can or cannot be implemented within the customer/clients process framework.
  • Ability to quickly pull together other Contractors, Government and Perspecta teams to solve incidents, problems and change preparation activities.
  • Must enjoy new challenges every day in a dynamic cloud environment.
  • This candidate will be a part of a team that provides Tier Level 1 and Tier Level 2 support while also working very closely with Developers on the Tier Level 3 activities.
  • Must be able to communicate well via phone, email, IM and via in-person meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to hold a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry of Duty (EOD) Clearance. Preference given to those that already hold the clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past DHS Data Center Experience or interaction with DHS Data Centers is preferred over education qualifications
  • ITIL or PMP certification highly desirable

Years of Experience and Education

  • Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
