Job Description: The Restore-L Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) subsystem includes an Integration and Test (I&T) engineer role to manage I&T aspects for the RPO subsystem. The Restore-L mission is currently in Phase C. The RPO I&T engineer will be supporting various subsystem validation and development test campaigns associated with the RPO subsystem throughout this phase as the overall subsystem and system designs mature. Phase C milestone tests to be supported include the RPO EDU Sensor Baseline Test, RPO EDU Proximity Operations Performance Test, RPO Range Sensor Characterization test, and system Auto- Capture Tests. During Phase D, the RPO I&T engineer will be responsible for managing the integration of flight RPO sensors to the Restore-L Servicing Payload and providing RPO subsystem I&T support for system validation test campaigns. Occasional travel may be required.

Job Responsibilities:

- Design testbed block diagrams, interconnections, and layouts to meet test objectives.
- Design and partition test cases to provide required coverage to meet objectives.
- Devise test operational sequences, scenarios, and procedures to execute test.
- Support execution of tests by directing test activities and/or operating hardware under test.
- Plan development and integration activities for hardware testbeds.
- Write test plans describing test objectives, overview, required resources, and schedule.
- Generate design requirements for and/or review harness drawings.
- Locate and select EGSE components from suppliers.
- Write step-by-step flight component acceptance test procedures and non-flight component integration procedures.
- Write Work Order Authorizations (WOAs) to execute step-by-step tests and procedures.
- Write test reports to document tests performed, describe configurations, and summarize results.
- Produce presentation packages for and present at Project and subsystem design reviews.
- Represent RPO subsystem at recurring validation test campaign working meetings.
- Manage preparations and activities for integration of RPO flight hardware to the Restore-L Servicing Payload.

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.

Desired Experience:

- Software
- Test data acquisition and archival.

- Test data reduction, manipulation, analysis, and presentation.

- Application of reference frame manipulations and common metrology practices.

- Usage of and design inputs for GSFC ASIST STOL, RDL, and pages.

- Matlab Hardware.

- Requirements flow, verification, and validation.

- Knowledge of NASA STD 8739.4.

- NASA parts selection list, flight and non-flight parts.

- Operation of test and measurement Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).

- EGSE power, signal, shielding, and grounding techniques.

- EGSE manufacturing and testing.

- Differential electrical signaling standards (LVDS, RS-422, RS-485).

- Analytical troubleshooting of hardware interfaces.

- Flight hardware handling, integration, and testing.
