**Role Summary:**



Lead the development of highly integrated system based on standard components (CPU, memory, flash,) with plurality of connectivity options (Cellular, Wi-Fi, BT, NFC, etc.)







**Essential Responsibilities:**







+ Manage all stage of the product life cycle from design to high volume production



+ Perform component selection, circuit design, PCB layout to optimize power density, thermal & EMC performance



+ Establish and manage the appropriate testing programs to validate design functionality, compliance to specifications (EMI, temperature, vibration, etc.) and reliability



+ Use clear thinking to translate functional specifications into design requirements



+ Use DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methods to design digital electronic modules



+ Monitor and communicate to leadership team project status, technical issues and key developments



+ Prepare and present design review documentation to support reliability, functionality of the design and compliance to specifications.







**Qualifications/Requirements:**







+ BS in Electrical Engineering or related field e.g. computer engineering, embedded systems



+ 7+ years of experience in hardware electronic design



+ 5+ year of experience in leading electronic product development



+ Ability to program low level firmware and understand embedded systems constraints like interrupt latency, context switching, flash memory management, boot loaders



+ Strong experience in digital electronics (Microcontrollers, Microprocessors, System-on-chips, Radio communication modules)



+ Working experience with ALTIUM or ORCAD



+ Knowledge and usage of simulation tools for circuit design



+ Appreciation of current practices & developments in the world of digital electronics



+ Inclusive individual who can influence and gain consensus in cross-functional teams



+ Strong verbal and written communications skills



+ Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited, reference verification and background check.



+ Must have unrestricted Canadian work authorization.

**Desired Characteristics:**







+ Hardware design expertise in a high-tech innovation environment.



+ Digital electronics, micro-controller/system-on-chip design and some wireless experience



+ Experience designing products from concept to launch



+ Knowledge of power metering physical interfaces e.g. optical communication is a plus



+ Individual must be a self-starter, creative and strategic thinker who knows how to work in a very dynamic environment



+ Member of OIQ, "Ordre des Ingnieurs du Qubec".
