Perspecta has an immediate need for a Help Desk Manager in Washington, DC

Responsibilities

  • Provides management, direction and leadership for the Helpdesk team

  • Accountable for enabling and ensuring operational excellence is the standard for all areas of responsibility.

  • Sets goals, standards and manages to expected performance of employees.

  • Initiates, guides, manages and implements continuous improvement initiatives within all areas of responsibility using tools like LEAN Six Sigma.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of operational support requirements.

  • Consults with business and IT staff to develop an understanding of the business needs and translates those needs into detailed requirements, actionable tasks, system documentation and project requests/plans.

  • Provides project management, analysis and consulting using industry best practices and methodologies.

  • Ability to introduce and lead change within the organization using change management principles.

  • Reporting

  • Develops and reports progress and KPI's for projects and workload on a reoccurring basis Training

  • Provides training to team members regarding processes, methodologies, strategies and approaches.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline (Master's degree preferred) OR Six (6) or more years of related experience with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role

  • Operational experience with Microsoft Server & application solutions, VMWare, Linux, Cisco, LAN/WAN solutions & cloud technologies preferred

  • Certification in ITIL preferred

  • PMP certification preferred
