Our goal is to remotely solve technical issues but due to the technical complexity of some issues, you also have the opportunity to travel domestically and internationally to address issues first hand at our customer’s sites.

## Job Mission

Help our partners in Field Support maximizing ASML tool performance, by providing 3rd line responsive one-stop shop for diagnostic support, specialized skills, and knowledge.

ASML produces high tech and high value products to semiconductor manufacturers. Downtime of these tools is very expensive for our customers. To minimize those costs, ASML’s Customer Support organization is responsible to repair the systems as quickly as possible. For this reason ASML ensures 24/7 support by covering 3x8 hours in 3 different continents with offices in the Netherlands, USA and Taiwan

## Job Description

**Responsible for 3rd line escalation support to the company’s field organization relating to:**

*Technical problem solving within the Illumination and Projection team competency:*


* Solve complex technical problems on ASML Lithographic equipment escalated by our customers within the GSC Illumination and Projection competency.
* Analyze, identify sources and solve complex issues related to the photolithography process.
* Remote diagnosis of complex technical (system & module) escalations (call handling of service orders) from our customers and creating deterministic forward looking action plans (DFLAP) according the ASML escalation process expectation setting.
* Interface with both internal as well as external customers were required to explain the findings of our analysis and proposed action plans (jncl. Timing, PCCSIM and DFLAP). PCCSIM (Problem, Containment, Cause, Solution, Implementation, and Monitoring).
* Travel to customer site on short notice when unable to solve problem remotely.
* Escalate to the next support level (4th line in The Netherlands or Wilton, CT) according to the committed escalation processes and time lines agreements.
* Facilitate in escalations from the continental GSC’s (Asia/EU) towards the factory (D&E;, SE, manufacturing, etc.).
* Identify, secure and support the rollout of (structural) improvements for installed base ASML Lithographic machines.
* Secure a written and verbal pass down of all ongoing escalations towards GSC Asia in order to secure 24x7 escalation support for our customers without added delay.
* Receive and scrutinize pass downs from GSC Europe to GSC North America in order to secure 24x7 escalation support for our customers without added delay.

*Knowledge proliferation:*


* Mentor trainees and deliver feedback on potential improvements with respect to way of working and knowledge/skill level concerning Metrology & Sensors Module escalations.
* Must be able to proliferate knowledge within the customer field organization at every opportunity by means of weekly calls, during escalations, on site visits and generation of documentation.
* Set up and coordinate yearly competency knowledge exchange weeks between the ASML Tech support (2nd line) and GSC organization, incl. preparation, generation and presentation of knowledge sharing material for the Illumination and Projection competency.
* Integrate background information concerning the problem and the solutions in action/repair plans.
* Combine on-site support with knowledge transfers to local organization.

*New Product Introduction (NPI) preparation:*


* During the NPI phase, you are assigned to the project (remote or on site in the factory) to gain the skills and knowledge to independently support field escalations. Manage own training plan and indicate what is required.
* Coordinate, transfer and share gained skills and knowledge within WW GSC Illumination and Projection teams to establish and maintain consistence knowledge between continental GSC support teams.
* During On-site introduction phase support you will be delivering knowledge and escalation handling to local organization.

**Travel**

Up to 30% domestic and international travel to customer sites and ASML satellite offices required, varying durations from a few days up to longer term assignments (3 months).

## Education

* Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Optics, Lasers, Physics, , Electronics, Chemistry, Mechatronics, Process Technology) or 5 years of experience working remotely, and hands on with photo lithographic equipment and processes.
* Experience should encompass working with and understanding issues in the lithographic semi-conductor manufacturing process.
* Knowledge of laser fundamentals, optical theory, electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, software, related disciplines.

## Experience

* Experience in a challenging environment with high tech products and complex production processes, preferably with trouble-shooting: analyzing problem, finding root cause and solution.
* At least 1-3 years’ work experience in analysis of complex problems.
* Extended experience with (ASML) metrology sequences preferred.
* Engineers with at least 2 years relevant ASML experience are preferred.

* Strong communicator in English (both oral and written).
* Strong analytic capability and a pro-active initiating attitude.
* Self-assured, capable of convincing people, also at higher management levels.
* Good presentation skills, detail-oriented.
* Ability to plan and set priorities, self-sufficient.
* Flexible in working hours, travel and work environments.
* Flexible for temporary (inter)national assignments (3-6 months)
* Independent
* Team worker, good social skills, customer-oriented.
* Familiar with MS office products (Power point, Excel programming a plus) MATLAB, MATHCAD, Lab View, Unix, Linux and Python.
