This Procurement Consultant position supports Elanco’s Human Resources organization by bringing external solutions to help best meet company objectives. The position will work with HR leadership to develop and execute sourcing strategies in the areas of Employee Benefits including Health (medical and PBM), Leave Management, Insurance, Compensation, Relocation, Pension Administration, Learning & Development, Recruiting, Temporary Labor and Employee Recognition. This role includes guiding the business to define future state requirements, researching best practice marketplace offerings, and analyzing spend in specific categories. The qualified candidate will identify and negotiate with qualified suppliers to contract for global compensation and benefit related services along with managing supplier relationships.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Interacting with client area management to develop and execute a sourcing strategy for suppliers of Elanco Compensation and Benefits and other related services.
  • Working with business client area to identify and execute sourcing projects that reduce risk, timeline and/or cost, while adding value without sacrificing service or quality.
  • Collaborating with senior lever stakeholders, while ensuring Elanco is optimizing the total value proposition globally for the organization.
  • Leading sourcing projects including strategy development, market analysis, supplier negotiations, contracting, and relationship management.
  • Coordinating with business partners to manage supplier activities related to any change orders for existing contracts.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of dynamics in the relevant marketplaces.
  • Support internal stakeholder operations to comply with Elanco financial and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years experience in procurement/strategic sourcing, contracting and supplier management
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
  • Experience in managing third party relationships including problem resolution skills.
  • Proven skills in negotiating complex global contracts and a solid understanding of commercial law.
  • Ability to manage professional relationships between Elanco and suppliers.
  • Ability to network and influence across all levels of management and organizations
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work independently
  • Proven problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills
  • Previous experience within the Animal Health, Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • Knowledge of applicable human resource laws
  • CPM or CPSM certification
  • MBA
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional
