Front End Engineer - High Performance Computing Team(Job Number:BUS0001DO)

As a Front End Engineer at Target’s High Performance Computing Research team, you will develop and design new solutions for Target’s stream data classification and analysis web platform. You must be deeply technical yet widely innovative and work very well in an agile, dynamic, team oriented environment. You are not expected to know everything but must be eager and capable of learning new skills and technologies in a fast-paced atmosphere.
 
You will be exposed to solving large scale, real-time, data processing challenges. You will have the chance to architect and maintain your own applications as well as collaborate with other team members to tackle challenging problems. You will have the opportunity to gain technical expertise in a wide variety of fields. From producing pixel perfect visual elements with the latest front-end technologies, to programming applications that process data on a super-computing environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Build and architect data driven front-end applications.
  • Design crisp and usable User Interfaces.
  • Optimize applications for scalability, stability, and speed.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
 Skills and Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and ES6.
  • Ability to design crisp and usable User Interfaces
  • Good understanding of RESTFUL APIs and asynchronous request handling.
  • Experience or exposure to front-end tooling such as npm, grunt, gulp, webpack and CSS pre-processing.
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Ability to use code version tool such as Git.
  • Experience with ReactJS.
Additional Desirable Experience
  • Experience with Redis.
  • Proficiency in Ruby.
  • Experience with Node.js.
  • Experience with data visualization in the web.
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch or a related tool for web design.
