Within the Customer Support Organization at the local sites is the Applications organization. The Field Applications team is responsible to demonstrate, optimize, and sustain ASML solutions to ensure on-product performance for customers. ## Job Mission

As Field Applications Manager, your mission is to lead and manage a group of technical engineers that support the optimization the application performance of the ASML scanner, scanner options and associated metrology. To be able to do this, you need to work closely with our customers and the account team to understand their application needs. You drive and develop the skills and competency within the Applications team to ensure the development of each member of the team and to ensure adequate staffing requirements are in place to addresses the customer’s current and future requirements. You will work closely with the WW Applications community to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices are shared and process improvements are aligned and implemented.

## Job Description



* Lead and manage the applications team, sets priorities, resources, budgets, problems and the team and ensure the team’s sustainability.


* Works closely within CS and with the account teams to understand the business direction and needs and identify areas where the applications team can be of added value to our customers


* Responsible for the planning and realization of operational activities in the team and responsible for the quality of the team’s output


* Ensure proper execution of applications projects and activities


* Responsible for receiving and transferring knowledge, requirements and other relevant information between VHV organization and the customer in an effective and efficient manner.


* Owns the competency and personal development of the team, coaches and mentors individual members


* Contributes to the definition and implementation of WW applications team policy and planning


* Support the Local team and drive proactive initiatives in the areas of structural process and performance improvements


* Facilitate communication between customer, local team and the other cross sectional interfaces (local account team, CS Applications team, BL’s, GSC, D&E;) for proper alignment


* Facilitate timely resolution of applications escalations or other customer applications issues through the proper channels

## Education



* Master’s degree (or Bachelor + relevant experience) in physics, electronics or mechanical engineering, optics, micro-electronics, chemical engineering or IC manufacturing or equivalent experience.

## Experience



* A minimum of 5 years semiconductor industry experience with degree or 10+ years of related industry experience.


* Direct stepper and/or scanner related experience in the semiconductor or related industry and an in-depth understanding of ASML products and operations is preferred.


* Strong technical background with drive towards collaboration and solutions


* Proven line management and process management skills;
Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction


* Effective interpersonal and communication skills


* Ability to direct activities of others to accomplish goals while maintaining ‘big-picture’ overview


* Ability to initiate and execute companywide improvement programs;


* Strong influencing skills: able to motivate, drive, steer and convince others at all levels of the organization


* Excellent written and spoken English language skills.


* Takes ownership and accountability to achieve the proper team output


## Context of the position

The CS Field Applications Manager reports to the CS local zone manager and is dotted line to the CS Applications manager in VHV.
