JOB DESCRIPTION:

The SAIC Technical Manual Team is seeking a Technical Illustrator in both print and electronic media. Applicants with advanced experience in Creo Parametric, Creo Illustrator and/or IsoDraw will be given prime consideration. Candidate will work closely with the Technical Manual Developers, Training Instructional Designers, Senior Technicians and Logisticians to rapidly create and modify detailed models and drawings using Creo Parametric/Illustrate, ISO Draw and other programs. Candidate must be independently motivated and take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into illustrations for use in Military Technical Manuals and Training Material. Daily Activities Include

- Create perspective illustrations, including line art and exploded part views, using Creo models according to DoD customer or company standards.
- Creates, plans, designs, and prepares graphics design products, computer- generated animation, photographs, text, and abstract illustrations.
- Provides advice and assistance with interpreting and applying guidelines and standards for design, graphics, composition, and techniques related to the communication of information.
- Formulates concept and creates illustrations and detail from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions and imagination.
- Determines style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effects and conform to reproduction requirements.
- Designs and develops substantive graphics and illustrations for use in military style technical materials, manuals, and publications with little or no guidance.
- With minimal guidance, sets priorities, goals, and deadlines, and makes recommendations on how to plan and accomplish in- depth, non-routine, ambiguous assignments.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Technical Illustrator/Graphics Designer.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Art, or related discipline or equivalent in experience in military manual illustrations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Creo Parametric/Illustrator and/or Isodraw 5+ years.
- Ability to manipulate ASM, 3CDI, EPS, IDR, DXF, PRT, JPG, TIFF, DWG, PDF, GIF and other graphic formats to create illustrations in various related software.

DESIRED SKILLS:

- DoD Technical Data Package generation experience.
- Technical Manual writing experience.
- Automotive and Military vehicle systems design and validation experience.
