JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Data Integration Specialist/Database Developer provides technical expertise in the standardization and transformation of file based data sets for input into the customer's various databases and assists in the management of the content produced from the resulting database output.  A successful candidate will be expected to examine the underlying structure (or lack thereof) of various data sets and create the scripts or manual processes necessary to transform that data into formats that allow the data to be ingested by the customer's various databases.  Additionally, the Data Integration Specialist/Database Developer will assist various customer components to present and manage the information/content produced by the successful output of the various databases (in addition to typical business productivity software). 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing mid-level support to the Technical Support Team Lead and Senior Data Integrator, as assigned
  • Participate in the planning, design, test, integration, and deployment of custom and commercially available database solutions
  • Assist in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various test and production databases and their related host environments
  • Interface with data owners and system end-users and provide technical support as necessary
  • Provide customers with access to specific database applications, based upon management approval
  • Provide technical guidance and draft technical support documentation as required
  • Use issue tracking system to facilitate managing tasks and documenting resolutions

Qualifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be U.S citizens and hold an active TS/SCI with Polygraph

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Integration, Database Development, or related field preferred
  • 5-9 years of real world data transformation experience using C# or similar programming language
  • At least 5 years direct experience of database development and troubleshooting
  • Developing adhoc data manipulation scripts using various scripting languages such as PowerShell, SQL Developer, etc.
  • Substantial knowledge of Wiridows/Windows Server operating systems, typical database installations and implementations
  • Aptitude for diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving common data transformation and database related technical issues
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and accurately, verbally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical workforce personnel
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a dynamic team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to follow-through on assigned tasks
  • Ability to successfully document , execute, coordinate, and track multiple tasks with competing priorities 

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with implementing database security controls in order to manage access to data at any prescribed level
  • Working knowledge of related industry standards, security principles, information security best practices and related technologies 
  • Familiarity with the administration and use of Content Management Systems, such as SharePoint, Confluence, or WikiMedia
