Data Integration Engineer - Full Stack Developer (Java)

Perspecta has a need for aData Integration Engineer-Full Stack Developer (Java) inChantilly, VA.

This role will be supporting the Department of Homeland Security and its Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) program.

  • Develop Connectors and processes for a RedHat Fuse Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) to various security sensors and tools.
  • Create documentation for the installation, configuration and implementation of these connectors and processes.
  • Interpret functional requirements and implements them into processes between a sensor layer and dashboard layer.
  • Perform functional testing in cybersecurity lab.
  • Provides support to test team and to tool subject matter experts through systems engineering life cycle.
  • Provides Tier 3 support to operations teams when deployed into production.
  • Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
  • Works on complex problems/ projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
  • Lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross- functional initiatives.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
  • Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
  • Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients.

Qualifications

Required:

A BS in Computer Science or related field required, Masters a plus.

  • 5-8+ years of Data Integration experience with at 4 years of IT enterprise experience.
  • 5-8+ years of experience with Java development, Java Scripting, JSON, XML, XSLT and database languages such as SQL and Oracle.
  • 3-5+ years of experience with web services development such as REST and SOAP.
  • Experience with build tools (Maven, Jenkins) and configuration tools such as SVN/GIT.
  • Strong knowledge of development tools, configuration management tools, existing development standards, frameworks, models and methods for developing and implementing security integrated solutions.
  • Understand and apply information system or operational solution related data modeling methods and tools to perform data integration tool interoperability.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adhere to defined processes and procedures and ability to suggest improvements.
  • Effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong technical documenting skills.
  • Experience with Spring Framework Service.
  • Experience with Junit, WireMock, Java Swing
  • Overall strong background in systems engineering, security engineering, architect, enterprise integration and interoperability in a complex systems environment, preferred.
  • Knowledge of emerging cybersecurity technologies.
  • Experience modeling data, message and service interoperability.
  • Understanding of technical, operational and management issues related to design, development and deployment of complex and distributed systems.
  • Understanding of interrelationships between critical infrastructure protection and cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge and experience with C&A processes in Federal environments, preferably with experience utilizing the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) for complex systems or networks.
  • Experience with Apache Camel performing data integration.
  • Strong understanding of Security tools such as McAfee and Tenable as well as enterprise service bus technology.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification or minimum Security+ certification.
  • Familiarity with DHS Cybersecurity programs such as Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM)
  • Powershell knowledge is a benefit.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills to articulate advanced technical topics and build consensus among clients and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, modify and deliver cybersecurity systems architecture, infrastructure and engineering based on client security needs, industry requirements and trends, client/company environment requirements and legacy system constraints and capabilities.
  • Recommend and coordinate the development, enhancement and organization of the architecture and infrastructure of the cybersecurity embedded in or overlaid on client's or company's technology solutions.
  • Monitor the output of cybersecurity teams and contributes to security requirements definition, documentation, development and deployment processes.
  • Combine industry expertise with a thorough understanding of information and cybersecurity technology to gather cybersecurity requirements and develop cybersecurity infrastructures and architectures.
  • Interface with systems architects to design and build a secure infrastructure.
  • Conduct complex cybersecurity solution testing to ensure performance and quality.
