The Data Auditing Lead will lead a team providing audit support to determine enterprise compliance with all of the Defense Intelligence Agencys current policies and oversight requirements. Specific activities include: Providing support for data handling obligations under numerous policy and legal authorities. Accomplish all activities in accordance with (IAW) US Law, Executive Orders (specifically Executive Order 12333), President Directives, IC Directives, Secretary of Defense Procedures, Attorney General Guidelines, partner agency information sharing agreements, and security protocols. Designing, testing, and implementing data oversight and auditing solutions for datasets within IT systems. Monitoring and reporting on the organizations use of data IAW its data access authorities and internal policy, and conducting research and analysis to report on data set usage by dataset, data provider, tool, or compliance requirement in question. Developing and implementing automated compliance oversight processes for the organizations use of and access to new datasets and/or emerging technologies. Conducting technical investigations and audits of IT systems and/or application logs related to data-handling compliance incidents (e.g., late deletions and unauthorized or inappropriate data access) to provide facts regarding access to the data and other issues during the period of non-compliance, and providing investigation results to the appropriate DIA personnel in a usable and easily understood format.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares documentation from information obtained from customer using accepted guidelines such as DITSCAP (DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process)
  • Provides input to periodic interagency reports, reviewing reports for accuracy regarding access to and use of data, and reviewing/reporting on compliance incidents.
  • Tracking and approving dataset user access requests IAW the standard operating procedures and policies and providing recommendations for streamlining and updating access procedures.
  • Formulating methods, documents, and procedures to guide appropriate use of data
  • Tracking and administering the compliance-related training
  • Developing a Compliance Innovation Plan and facilitating discussions between the relevant stakeholder groups in order to formulate a specific implementation plan for data-handling compliance.


Required Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  2. Bachelor's w/ 10-12 yrs. experience, Master's w/ 8-10
  3. CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification

Desired Qualifications:

  1. STEM degree (e.g., computer science, management information systems, systems engineering).
  2. DIA systems experience [e.g., Machine-Assisted Analytic Rapid-Repository System (MARS), Generic Area Limitations Environment (GALE), Functional Intelligence System of Hierarchical Networks (FISHNet), FounDRI, Event Data, Defense Economics Database, Object Based Production (OBP), Activity Based Intelligence (ABI), IC Information Technology Enterprise (ICITE)].
  3. Experience leading an IA team
